In less than 7 hours’ time, I’ll be flying off again to someplace where there’s only us.

i’m really quite excited and looking forward to the time we’ll be spending together - exploring a new destination and going through some new experiences along the way.

I came across an interesting article posted on The Online Citizen today.

The main thrust of this article revolved around the pressing need and reasons why Singapore needs to actively enforce human rights. Based on the current situation and some of the comments left by other readers, it seems as though a large majority of us are just an apathetic and/or materialistic bunch that couldn’t really be bothered about this issue.

Perhaps this might be true, or perhaps some of us have given up caring because it has simply proven to be a futile effort. I applaud those before who have fought on this…but, realistically speaking, there seems to be little to show for it.

Whatever it is, as I was reading the article, one question that popped up in my mind is:

In the face of rising commodity prices (i.e. raw materials like food and fuel), some families are already finding it a struggle to meet their basic needs…and how many would actually place more significance on this human rights issue as compared to another that could potentially threaten our livelihood?

Somehow, I sense that this is going to be helluva fight – going uphill all the way.

After a massive shopping trip at Bangkok, I’ve made my way back to our sunny city with almost excessive baggage and absolutely penniless (in terms of Baht currency, of course).

Once back at work, tons of emails and preparing for my work trip to Helsinki, Finland have kept me so busy that I haven’t managed to blog about my Bangkok trip in richer details.

It has been only less than a week, and I had to go off to Helsinki again. Although it’s supposed to be the beginning of summertime here, it’s still at an extremely chilly 5 deg cels. i’m freezing my toes off as we speak.

i’ve been here for almost 2 days now but haven’t managed to do any sightseeing…my days are occupied with seminars (afterall, this is a work trip) but i’m hoping to get some free time during my trip to look around and get the feel of this city.

it’s almost 2AM in this part of the world now and i really should hit the bed before i start dozing off in my seminars tomorrow, or technically, today.

if you still don’t know, i will be going to bangkok for holidays this friday and finland for work at the end of may. as much as it may come as a surprise, this will be my virgin trip to bangkok - the land of endless shopping. although i’m not much of a shopping fan, it will be fantastic to take a break from work and explore a new and exciting city, especially when its nightlife holds so much promise! thai girl shows, ah-go-go bars, patpong and many many more!

if you have any recommendations for must-go places for these two cities, do drop me a line and let me know!

as of now, my traveling mates have already gone berserk with excitement… and they’re flooding my inbox with endless chatter about the upcoming bangkok trip while i’m still trying to keep my cool. heh.

as much as i’m excited about this holiday, i know that i will be leaving a part of me behind in singapore. i’ll miss you.

honestly, i’m trying my damnest/hardest at holding it all together without letting anything slip.

i’m being pulled from all directions…and the line is as taut as it can get.

a fun take on what’s pr about

themediaslut has declared 9 april to be the day to highlight and celebrate the work that pr professionals do.

there’s no particular cause or reason behind this movement. it’s just a fun thing to do.

let’s see how long or how many people will it take to get this off the ground - if ever.

i’m plugging this purely because i’m in the said field as well and since more than 95% of my friends do not know what being in public relations entails, it will be a good opportunity to educate the general public on what the pr profession is really about.

i said, if this ever takes off, okay?

as a rule of thumb, i tend to trust someone until proven otherwise because i believe that people should give others the benefit of the doubt.

recently, i have a friend who has put this belief to the test - time and time again.

right now, i’m thinking of how i should handle this in the best way possible.

i’m starting to realize that i might really just be a lousy judge of character…even after being around for 25 years.

p/s: in other news, man utd has just ended arsenal’s dreams with their 2-1 win at home. as much as i don’t want to admit it, i have to say that man utd’s second goal was truly impressive.

roses have always been highly sought-after as it is the ultimate symbol of love, especially in the victorian times where the flower has inspired many famous poets and playwrights such as william shakespeare in their literary works.

an ardent fan of literature works based on the victorian times, it would come as no surprise that roses will be my favorite flowers too. to be specific, red roses.

the fiery red color signifies burning passion that threatens to scald the bearer, in contrast to its tender petals that feel like silk to the touch. this blatant contrast seems to hold a special attraction for me.

anyhow, the point of this post -
